Bullying and harassment have certainly been in the news lately.  Now President Obama has come out in  support of the Student Nondiscrimination Act (SNDA) and the Safe Schools Improvement Act (SSIA), both of which would require educators to address bullying and harassment in schools.  On Friday, April 19, the president officially endorsed both bills and our actions (our e-mails and lobbying efforts) helped to bring this about.   This important step does not guarantee passage of the legislation, but it is a very good sign.  Take action — contact Congress, and urge them to pass these laws.
